KBF Seminary Scholarship

Kentucky Baptist Fellowship awards $1000 scholarship yearly to Kentucky seminarians. Applications are received by the Scholarship Committee of the Coordinating Council in the fall and the scholarship is awarded in the spring at the KBF Annual Spring Gathering.

Qualifications:
  • Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have served as a Kentucky Baptist Fellowship summer missionary. 
  • Secondly, support will be considered for any student upon acceptance at, or already attending, Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. 
  • Finally, support will be considered for students upon acceptance at a CBF partnering theological school.
STEPS TO APPLY

1. Complete the online Application Form
Click the above link, complete and submit the online KBF Scholarship Application Form.  This secure form will remain confidential within our office and scholarship committee.
 
2. Arrange for three letters of reference to be sent on your behalf
 Three references are requested:
  • One must be from your pastor or ministry staff of your local church
  • One must come from the supervisor of your Kentucky Baptist Fellowship summer mission work, former employer or supervisor of volunteer work experience
  • The third reference may be from a professor or religious leader.
Letters of reference should address the following aspects of the applicant:
  • Christian commitment, 
  • potential for lay or ordained church ministry leadership, 
  • emotional and spiritual maturity, 
  • interpersonal relationship skills (specific examples would be helpful)
The persons you choose as a reference may email their letters of reference by clicking here or they may mail their letters of reference directly to the office of the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship (Attention: KBF Scholarship, 225 S. Hurstbourne Pkwy, Suite 205, Louisville, KY 40222)
 
3. Complete an essay about your faith story and your calling
 Please write an essay that addresses your call to faith in Christ, your sense of vocational calling, your core Baptist beliefs, your relationship to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and your desire for this scholarship (three to five pages).  You may upload your essay here, or you may mail your essay to the KBF office.  ESSAYS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 24, 2012

 

KBF SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE TO APPLY:
The above information (including reference letters) must be received no later than FEBRUARY 24, 2012 for a spring 2012 award. The award will be applied for the 2012 fall semester.


 
Other Details:
The $1000 scholarship is a one-time only award. Upon approval of the application by the Scholarship Committee of the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship, the scholarship will be awarded to the individual pending verification of enrollment/acceptance to the applicant’s chosen school. The recipient is expected to attend the spring meeting of the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship in order to receive the award.
