INTERNSHIPS/SUMMER MINISTRY

Missions Intern - Kentucky Baptist Fellowship
Kentucky Baptist Fellowship will hire a summer missions intern to work in Louisville under the supervision of the Associate Coordinator for Missions, Josh Speight.  This 12-week internship will engage the student with KBF partner churches and individuals as they work together on hands-on mission work in Kentucky.  Primary expectations for the internship include working alongside the Associate Coordinator to network and resource churches, assist with KBF's annual Extreme Build home construction in McCreary County, assist with volunteer mission teams serving in KBF Mountain Hope counties, and learning about the principles of Asset-Based Community Development which guide KBF's missional practices.  College and seminary students may apply (recent high school graduates will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).  Contact Josh Speight at 502-426-1931 or josh@kybf.org for more information or to apply.

 

Youth Intern - Crescent Hill Baptist Church, Louisville
Crescent Hill Baptist Church is seeking a Youth Intern.  The Youth Intern will work with the church’s pastor responsible for students to minister to and with middle and high school-aged students.  Crescent Hill Baptist Church is an extraordinarily diverse community of faith.  Roughly half of our youth were born in Burma or Thailand and came to the United States recently as refugees.  More than 50 youth usually participate in regularly scheduled youth activities each week.  The ideal candidate will possess a passion for:

1. helping youth develop closer relationships with God and one another,

2. teaching youth how to serve others and stand up for peace and justice, and

3. ministry in a multi-cultural context.

Youth ministry experience, multi-cultural ministry experience, and some seminary/divinity school educational experience are preferred.  The Intern will be asked to work an average of 12 hours per week.  This is a paid position.  Funding for this position is slated at this time to end on December 31, 2012.

Children's Ministry Intern and Youth Ministry Intern - Highland Baptist Church, Louisville

The goal of Highland's Sumer Ministry Internships is to experience many facets of the role of serving as either Minister to Children and their Families or as a Minister to Youth.  This will include, but is not limited to, direct experiences teaching children/youth, planning, preparing and leading events, observing forms of church process, as well as performing a variety of administrative tasks.
