Mountain Hope

Mountain Hope is a Christ-centered initiative that seeks to offer hope with people in and around three of Kentucky’s poorest counties. This is done by listening to local leaders and others who work among the poor in these areas, building relationships of trust with them, learning about existing resources, and walking alongside them to find solutions. The hope is also for all of us to become more attentive to the needs of the poor in our own communities.

Mountain Hope is part of a larger Cooperative Baptist Fellowship initiative to touch the twenty poorest counties in the United States. Launched in 2001, Together for Hope is a long-term commitment to working with people in 20 of the nation’s poorest counties in order to affect change and break the cycle of economic disparity. The ministry is about establishing long-term relationship, listening, learning and walking alongside local leaders.
