MDG’s
During the August, 2008 meeting of the Coordinating Council in Louisville, Kentucky, the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship voted in the affirmative to join the global campaign known as the United Nation’s Millenium Development Goals (MDG’s). These goals, conceived by the United Nations in 2000, are a unifying commitment to eradicate extreme poverty in our world.
UNITED NATION’S MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS:
1. ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY AND HUNGER
2. ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION
3. PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN
4. REDUCE CHILD MORTALITY
5. IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH
6. COMBAT HIV/AIDS, MALARIA AND OTHER DISEASES
7. ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
8. DEVELOP A GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP FOR DEVELOPMENT
