Rhonda Abbott Blevins, Coordinator
Dr. Rhonda Abbott Blevins returns to the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship from Loudon, Tennessee where she serves as Associate Pastor at the interdenominational Tellico Village Community Church. Before moving to Tennessee, Rhonda previously served KBF as Associate Coordinator for Missions from 2005-2007, during which time she launched (with much help from others!) KBF’s Extreme Build and Morocco Partnership. Prior to her time at KBF, Rhonda served as a Baptist campus minister at the University of Georgia.
In 2014, Rhonda completed her Doctor of Ministry degree from Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology, where she studied the effects of the spiritual practice of gratitude on personal well-being. She holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Tennessee Tech University. Rhonda is a trained clergy coach, presently practicing through Pinnacle Leadership Associates in Chapin, South Carolina. Additionally, Rhonda has enjoyed continuing education opportunities with the Community Development Academy, the Academy for Spiritual Formation, the Stephen Ministry Leader Training Course, and Clinical Pastoral Education.
Earlier this year, Dr. Blevins published Awaken: A Prayer Experience through Pinnacle Leadership Press. She was a featured speaker at the KBF Spring Gathering in Owensboro in 2013 and at A [Baptist] Conference on Sexuality and Covenant in 2012. She is the recipient of the 2012 Charles A. Trentham Homiletics Award. She was ordained to the ministry in 2005.
Rhonda met her husband, Terry, during her time in Kentucky. Married in 2005, their “prenuptial” agreement was that they would both cheer for Tennessee during football season and Kentucky during basketball season. It hasn’t worked out that way. Their oldest son, Jake, was born in 2007 in Louisville, and their youngest son, Rhys, entered the world in 2013. They have extended family in Louisville and Lexington.
Kristin Belcher, Interim Office Manager
Kristin Belcher rejoined KBF in April of 2013 as our Administrative Assistant. Kristin is no stranger to KBF as she previously served in the spring of 2012 as the Missions Intern. Kristin, who also serves as Minister to Youth at First Baptist Church of Frankfort, is a native of Danville. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Kristin has worked previously with Americorp, Passport, and in the field of social work. In her spare time, Kristin loves spending time with her nephews, Jaxon and Parker.
Laura Barclay, Communication, Networking & Interim Missions Associate
Laura Barclay joins our staff to work with communications and networking. Laura, an ordained minister, recently moved back to her home state after having earned her M.Div. from Wake Forest University School of Divinity and spent five years working with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina as their Social Ministries Coordinator. She is active at Highland Baptist Church, where she assists with children's ministry and adult education. Her first book will soon be released by Smyth & Helwys entitled, "With Us in the Wilderness", and she blogs at The Winding Labyrinth. She is married to a fellow minister, Ryan Eller, a community organizer. She can frequently be found decked out in red and cheering for her beloved Louisville Cardinals, her undergraduate alma mater.
