2010-2011 KBF Fall Missions Offering

2010-2011 Fall Mission Offering Materials - Click Here

2010-2011 Theme: “BUILD UP HOPE”

Kentucky Baptist Fellowship's Fall Mission Offering is about hope.  Your support of this offering enables KBF to build up hope for people; people who know better than you or me about the harsh realitites of life, the daily injustices of poverty and social disparities that can extinguish the spirit of hope.  God has called each one of us to share the hope we know - the hope that comes in the form of God's people working together to change the reality of poverty in our community, to change the reality of social injustices done in the name of race, religion or class.  We build up hope in the name of Christ because we are reminded that in building hope together, no one will be left out, no one will be left behind (1 Thess. 5:11).

Your offering of financial gifts allows KBF to continue to "Build Up Hope" across Kentucky and beyond; specifically in McCreary County, Kentucky, the Eglise Evangelique au Maroc Partnership in Morocco, and in Nada and Owsley County, Kentucky.

October is KBF's target month for receiving the Fall Missions Offering, with Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 being the target date.  Let us not grow weary in our cause.  We have already build up hop in the name of Christ for so many in Kentucky and our world.  Together, we can continue to build up hope through our shared love and commitment to Jesus Christ.

2010-2011 Fall Missions Offering Emphasis: Nada and Owsley County, KY

Separated by 30 miles near the Natural Bridge State Park, these beautiful areas of Kentucky continue to provide unequaled opportunities of service for many churches.  Numerous churches have developed long term commitments to these areas, some coming each summer for the past ten years.  The combined efforts of Paula Settle (CBF Field Personnel), John Owen (Nada/FBC Winchester Pastor), KBF Interns, FBC Frankfort, Owsley County Action Team, Partnership Housing and many others are helping to build up hope within these families.

2010-2011 Fall Missions Offering Emphasis: EEAM Partnership in Morocco

As the partnership between the Eglise Evangelique au Maroc (EEAM) and KBF enters its fifth year, it enters a unique relationship transitioning from a simple partnership toward a deeper friendship.  This friendship challenges KBF to take seriously our desire to understand and embrace racial, cultural, and generational differences found throughout the body of Christ.  Twelve members of the EEAM National Choir traveled to Kentucky in 2010 for the Voices United Choir experience.  Combined with 18 Kentuckians, this choir used their gifts of song, worship, and testimony to build up hope with our neighbors from North Africa.

2010-2011 Fall Missions Offering Emphasis: McCreary County, KY

McCreary County, Kentucky, is the site of KBF's annual Extreme Build, now in its sixth year.  This affordable housing project is a "Miracle of Partnerships."  As a fellowship of churches and individual, KBF is unable to build a quality home wihtout partners.  However, when we pull together our assets alongside the assets of local partners like Kristie Wilson (2010 Extreme Build recipient) and affordable housing partners like Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation (KHIC), McCreary County Community Development Corporation (McCHODO), HUD-Louisville, Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises (FAHE), and First Baptist Church of Whitley City, we are able to build not only a beautiful home but we build up hope in the lives of families in McCreary County.
