Walter Brueggemann and Brian McLaren to visit Louisville in April

Two dynamic theologians and prophetic voices will visit Louisville this April.  Author, visionary, speaker Brian McLaren will speak on his latest book Naked Spirituality on Sunday evening, April 10 at 7:00pm at Highland Baptist Church (1101 Cherokee Road, Louisville, KY 40204).

Later that week, Dr. Walter Brueggemann will present "The Evangelical Food Fight" on Saturday, April 16 at 7:00pm at Highland Baptist Church.

A former pastor and college English teacher, Brian D. McLaren is an author, speaker, activist, and networker among innovative Christian leaders. His dozen-plus books include A New Kind of Christianity, A Generous Orthodoxy, and most recently, Naked Spirituality. He and his wife, Grace, live in Florida and have four adult children. He's an avid wildlife and outdoors enthusiast who believes God's first language is this amazing universe.

Brueggemann’s work focuses on the relationship between the Hebrew Scriptures and Christian faith. His 58 books, hundreds of sermons, and worldwide lecture events have deeply influenced contemporary theology and biblical exegesis. Brueggemann’s books include The Prophetic Imagination, Praying the Psalms, Theology of the Old Testament, and numerous commentaries on the Hebrew canon. Brueggemann is professor emeritus at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and a minister in the United Church of Christ.
